Our last season wasn't really grand. We only had few goals, but those we had didn't work out well. Still managed to get 14 results of which 4 wins. That makes it a 6,5 out of 10.
Aarrgggh!
The hardest blow was in Germany Tour where we chased the YC for the third time. In the previous two attempts bad luck struck us, with an offday in the TT at the first attempt and an injury for the captain during the second attempt. This time it was even worse: offdays, mech issues on all stages but the prologue! Yet again have to settle for 2nd spot with a very small time gap. Tereshchenko has to come back next season to see if his personal third attempt will give the result we desire to make our jersey collection complete.
Management error
Another unlucky moment was missing the signup for Vuelta. We had planned for TF for Abdul-Karim and with that he would be a strong contendor for the win. Though in all honesty he would probably not be top favorite, so more chance we missed on a podium spot than the actual win. It makes this bitter pill better to swallow.
Second at the World Championship
Due to missing out on Vuelta we made plans for Rashad to show up in his best form at the World Championship. This time no unlucky stuff, we got a very nice second and were beaten by a (mildly) better opponent. That can happen though it was still an disappointment. Planning went great and the consolation prize was 25k. Might come back to do it again.
The good stuff
Were there any good things then. Yes sure! We finally managed to win Erzurum - Ispir, one of the four DH-races in div 1 and 2 we had not won before. So after 7 seasons with the new calendar only 3 goals remain in that field. Furthermore we had a surprise win by Na'il at Bordeaux-Toulouse. And we also saw Prikhodko's potential in a few races, especially in Alpe d'Huez Classic without TF (4th). The DH-squad was generally performing good too.
Team future
Looking at the team there was good news too, with a high maxer and a very decent maxer. Victor Mahan can captain in some race in the future and is a top team mate. Dilovan Torabi is of lesser level but still quite useful. There is now a base, yet a bit small still, for a competitive squad in the near future.
On the other hand our very own-trained succesful tour squad is aging fast now. Season 55 may be the end of an era with Parkerson, Seyhan and Neuländter reaching pension, Valenzuela turning 34 with whom it all started and Abdul-Karim, Waard and Mikhaylov not getting younger. The squad needs to improve in the coming seasons to be able to fight for the podium.

Rebuilding, possibly the hardest thing to do in this game. Good luck ahead!
Great review!
Good to see that I´m not the only one who missed sign-up for Vuelta ;-)

Bright future ahead with a rider like Zarindoost! Well done Nooky, I am happy you still find some goals for yourself for next seasons. All the best!
